Who we are
Our family run business provides comprehensive services including garden installation, garden care, meadow seeding & management, garden rehabilitation, and tree removal and care. Husband and wife team Ceilidh Galloway-Kane and Geoff Fehrs started the business in 2020. With help from our dynamic and highly trained team we offer services throughout the Northeast Kingdom and Central Vermont.
We believe strongly that landscapes should be both beautiful and beneficial.
Ceilidh Galloway-Kane - Owner & Lead Gardner/Designer
Ceilidh (kaylee) has been running her own landscaping business for 5 years and transitioned the business to Ecotone Landscapes in 2022. She grew up helping out in the fields and greenhouses of Perennial Pleasure Nursery, in East Hardwick. In 2020, she completed the UVM Master Gardner Program. As owner she communicates with clients, designs projects, and leads all gardening field work.
Geoffrey Fehrs - Owner & Arborist
Geoff has been working with trees since 2015. He spent 3 years learning the art and science of arboriculture from some of the best in the industry. As an ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified Arborist, Geoff is committed to working with clients to help keep their trees beautiful and beneficial for years to come and when the time comes to remove hazardous trees safely and efficiently.
Milo Kane-Fehrs - Real Boss :)
Milo is the reason Ecotone Exists. The company was born out his parents desire to raise their son in the outdoors while working with Vermont families, like theirs, to create and maintain gorgeous landscapes that are a pleasure to come home to. Milo has been on landscape jobs since he was 4 weeks old, and can often be found chatting with any trees, shrubs, and/or household pets he can find (he is 4).
Mikayla Pick - Office Manager
Mikayla grew up mostly in Vermont and has always enjoyed being outdoors especially with animals. She has a BS from University of Vermont and has been a business owner for 6 years. With starting a family she is looking forward to stepping back from the rigors of running a business and working with Ecotone to streamline customer care and employee satisfaction.
James Schafer - Landscape Foreman
After fifteen years of building and maintaining premium landscapes in Central Indiana, James is excited to start his next chapter here in Vermont with Ecotone. He most recently served as the Director of Outdoor Maintenance for one of Central Indiana’s top-tier landscape firms, where he guided several crews in caring for over 150 high-end estates. James is passionate about the "science" of a healthy landscape, and he’s excited to bring that expertise to our clients across central and northern Vermont, ensuring every property receives the highest level of care.
Meredith Nicol- Garden Crew Lead
Meredith is a local Vermonter, raised in the Northeast Kingdom. She graduated from Sterling College with a BA in Environmental Humanities. In her spare time she can be found sitting in the sun reading, creating art, or exploring a new town or landscape.
Huck Howard- Garden Crew
Huck enjoys being outside looking for bugs and medicinal plants! They are an avid birder and is working on a life list. Originally from Maine, they moved to Vermont 10 years ago and haven’t left since. They appreciate hard work, especially outside because they get to see things in nature they love!
Sam Russell - Garden Crew
Sam is a local who grew up in Greensboro. He has been working for Ecotone for several years both in landscape and tree care jobs. When not at work he is usually found with family doing a variety of things, especially activities with his daughter!

She graduated with a conservation biology degree from St. Lawrence, and has spent time doing research with fishers, endangered frogs, and other small mammals and reptiles. When not working she is found hiking, biking, or spending time with her mustang Cactus!
Duncan Reid - Garden Crew
Duncan grew up in eastern California near the Sierra Nevada mountain range. He has a passion for learning about ecological systems and ways to preserve the land through restorative practices. Recently he moved to Vermont to get back east as he had experienced the white mountains and their offerings during college. Outside of work he is an avid hiker, biker, skiier, and rock climber.
Purl Feldman - Garden Crew
Purl ventured to central Vermont after many years living in the southeast. She’s spent a lifetime chasing water and adores jumping in its infinite shapes and carries a diverse bouquet of job experience ranging from farmer, bartender, Voodoo Priestess’ archivist, worker bee for many an environmental nonprofit, and most recently, residential therapy guide. She agrees that plants are the best.
Pintel aka “Pinny” - Supervisor
Pintel is new to the Ecotone family as of fall 2025! She came from Alabama and has settled into the Vermont fall and winter really well, must be the Husky in her! She will be joining the team on jobs throughout the year and can be found sniffing out boundaries and keeping the crews on task. Her name refers to a style of hitch used on the chipper.
